17 month funnies

Dane is just so dang cute I can't get over it!! He is always doing something to make us laugh...in fact today I was mopping the floor in the kitchen, well he likes to help sometimes a little too much so I went and put him in his room to play for a bit. Well he cried at first then it was quiet. I knew he was up to something...I opened the door and he had yellow chunks of something on his mouth and on the floor. Then I saw his foam golf club had a big chunk taken out of it!! Haha I just had to laugh...he was getting back at me for putting him in his room. We might have to get another one of those clubs when he is out of the "Puppy dog stage"! (Scott & Amber that has been the best gift ever...he is always playing with it and hitting the golf balls!)

My mom got him some cute Carhart overalls for Christmas! He is all ready to go and work on the farm this summer with his Grandpa Turpin!

My sis in law Joni got him a sled for Christmas, well we don't have much snow so it has become his chill-laxing chair to watch his movies in. We pull him around in it in the house...which he LOVES! Thanks Joni!

He has an obsession with having sock on his hands...he thinks its pretty funny!!

He must get this from me...I ALWAYS have my feet up when I'm eating, ridding in the car etc. Well he thinks he needs to put his foot up on the table and chill while he eats his dinner!

We thought that since it was our 5 Year Anniversary we had better do something exciting! My mom and Steve came and stayed with Dane while we got away to Salt Lake. It was weird driving away and not having Dane. It was the first time for me leaving him for 2 nights. It was very nice to get away and do our own thing. We went to the Mt. Timpanogas Temple and did sealings...since that was where we got married. That was really fun! Then we headed off to Salt Lake for a weekend full of shopping, chillaxing, eating out and and enjoying our time together!

Brent always talked about going to the Church Building and riding the elevator. He said he used to do it all the time when he was a kid. It was fun...went up like 32 floors in 26 seconds. (I can't remember how many floors there was but more floors than seconds) I felt it more so when we were coming down. My belly was in my throat! We got to look out on the top and see all of Salt Lake. That was really fun!!

Oh yes, Dane did just fine!! I knew he would...in fact he was mad at me for leaving him and wouldn't have anything to do with me until later that night when we got back! Haha thanks mom and Steve for watching him!!

Christmas 2011

We had such an awesome Christmas and New Years. Brent didn't have to work the week between Christmas and New Years so we packed our bags for 10 days and headed off to Idaho! We had such a great time. Lots of parties, being with family & friends, eating, game playing, laughing, sleeping in, etc! Dane had such a blast...he would more so get excited with the one toy that he opened and didn't really want to open any more. We had Christmas with just our little family the night before we left and that was a blast! Thought that was a good idea since I wouldn't be able to hide Brent's BBQ grill that he got!! Thanks family for such a wonderful time of the year! Can't wait to do it again next!

This is my favorite picture...Dane & Red on Christmas Night! I wish we lived closer because these two would be best buddy's!! It took a second for Dane to warm up but by the end of the night they were so funny to watch!!

Our little Man is 15 months. We took him to the Doctor and he is as healthy as can be!

*loves to be chased on his 4-wheeler down the hall. (He tends to pop wheelies cause he is going so fast!)

*L.O.V.E.S music...is always throwing his hands in the air or nodding his head to the beat...once in a while he will throw a leg kick in there too!

*starting to transition to 1 nap a day

*sleeps in until 8:30ish or later everyday

*has to sleep with his soft blanket and his pup pup

*enjoys being around other kids his age

I'm sure there is more but we are just so happy to have this sweet boy in our family. There is just something about him that will just brighten your day!! Love ya Dane!!

Birthday WEEK!

Yes we celebrated another birthday at our house...this time it was ME!! Yay! I would have to say that it was a good one! We ended up going home the weekend before my birthday and we had a few celebrations there that involved cheesecake, Skore cake, and good company!! I'm so grateful for such a great family that loves me.

On my special day my sweet niece made me a cute picture!!! Thanks Avers!

I have never been the one that likes to make my own cake so I hinted to Brent that there was this cute cupcake place in Provo and he should go there for my birthday cake!! Seriously, he spoiled me rotten...came home at 5:30 pm with 2 doz roses, dinner from Cafe Rio and 4 cupcakes!

Whoa I was on cloud 9!! Brent is finally starting to slow down a bit at work...thank goodness!! So it was good to have him home early to spend my special day with me! Oh yeah and Dane took me out shopping...sweet boy huh?

Here are the cupcakes vanilla, coconut, cookies and cream, and key lime pie! I have to say though my favorite by far was the coconut!! Yum yum...

A few weeks ago Brent had to travel to Idaho for work. So we figure we might as well tag along with him...well it was suppose to be a 3-4 day stay and it ended up being a 10 day stay. Brent had to go back and forth from Idaho to Utah in between those 10 days so we thought we would take advantage of it and stay in Idaho. We had such a fun time. Got got to spend lots of time our families. We went and watched Ava play in her last soccer game, hit up Kings, lunch dates, visited family. One day my mom had to go and work on the temple grounds and it was only going to take her an house. Well no one showed up to help her...so we went and tried to help her, more so explore! Dane had such a great time.

Danes new thing is he loves to sit in the driver seat and pretend to drive! Brent's dad and brother were in harvest so he took Dane out with him and rode around in the tractor for 2+ hours. Brent said he would not stop smiling. Sounds like we are going to have to send Dane to Idaho for the summers to work on the farms!!

Me and my mom love schnauzers...well she gave Dane a stuffed schnauzer and he has to go EVERYWHERE with us now! Someday we need to get him a real one.

I haven't been out golfing since I've had Dane so we figure we would take advantage of the nice weather and go out. Man it felt so good!! I had some awesome tee shots. Dane loved cart hopping between Gram and Papa Steve and us.

We also got to hang out with my dad and Lupe and have a fun evening together. It was nice to be home for a bit. With harvest in full swing it made me kinda home sick so it was nice to get to be home and enjoy smelling the fresh dirt in the air!! Thanks for letting us come and stay so long Gram!!

We know that one day Dane will just take off walking. It seems that he is getting braver and braver with the things he does every day! He is just so dang cute, we can't get enough of him!

The little stinker likes to ONLY push himself back on his car...I've tried to teach him to move his feet forward and no...so his new thing is he pushes himself back until he hits something and can't go any farther and gets off and moves his car so he can keep going!!

Zoo

Last weekend we thought we would take Dane to the zoo! The weather was perfect and we all had such a good time. Dane's favorite would have to be the monkeys...go figure! He would point at them and then kick his legs like crazy. We also saw en elephant, rhino, giraffe and crocodile! The tigers were all sleeping and Brent was bummed because the part that has the penguins and polar bears was under construction and will be finished next summer. Guess we will be going back. Like how we are wearing our Boise State gear? Go BRONCOS!!!

Birthday Bash!

This boy had such an awesome birthday! We went out to lunch with some of his friends to McDonalds and had chicken nuggets, fries and root beer! He was also featured on Good Things Utah for his birthday. My mom, Steve, dad and Lupe all came to share this special day with us. He got so many fun gifts that he just loves them all! Dane is such a special boy and we just don't know what we would do without him. He is constantly making us laugh! So glad that he was sent to our family.

I wanted to get creative and I made him a sock monkey birthday banner! It turned our super cute. We left it up all week since we celebrate birthday WEEKS around our house!

Dane wasn't sure when it came to opening gifts. He would get so excited with one gift that he just wanted to play with that. He was so funny to see his expression and have him make is vrooom noises when he got his 4-wheeler and Buzz car!

We got pizza for everyone and boy does he love pizza and root beer! It was priceless when this kid ate his cake! I'm so glad that he had such a fun party. The day after his birthday I asked him if he had a good birthday and he looked at me and shook his head up and down!!

Last weekend Brent had to run to Idaho to go to work so we thought we would tag along. Well it just so happened that my brother and his family were going to be in Sun Valley, Idaho so it was a no brain-er that we were going to go!! We had such a fun time...quick trip but a BLAST! We went to check out a spot to go fishing and as we got there some friends were leaving and left their pools for us to use. Brogan caught the most...he is a pro! I caught one!!! Dane LOVED the fish, after we would get the hook out of the fishes mouth we would let him touch them and he would want to stick his fingers down their mouth and full on grab the fish. Bo caught one fish that only had one eye...ewww! Dane loved the dirt and enjoyed every minute of it!!

My brother and his family stopped at our house the other night on their way to Lake Powell. They have a little boy Red who is 9 months older than Dane! They are going to be such good buddy's. They would crawl around and chase each other and talk! We put them in Danes bed and they were just so funny to watch.

Dang Teeth

Dane has been getting more teeth in. Its the ones behind his k-9's. Well this time it has totally kicked his buns. On Saturday he came down with a fever and his poor gums have been so swollen. I just feel so bad for the poor dude! Since he hasn't been feeling well, we've had lots of cuddle time, cartoons, otter pops, sleepless nights and hanging in his diaper! Hopefully they will just push through fast and it will all pass soon!!

A few weeks ago when we were in Idaho, Dane went out on his 1st tractor ride with is Grandpa Turpin! Dane just loved it! (Even though the look on his face isn't proving it) I can't wait until he gets older so we can go to Idaho in the summers and he can help out his grandpa and uncles on the farm!

Family/4th of July

We had the opportunity to go to Idaho over the 4th of July. My brother and his family were going to be there from Washington and its been 9 months since we have all been together! To say the least, we had a BLAST! Our trip consisted of laughing, eating, swimming, drinking diet cokes, laying out, laughing more, fireworks, playing, roasting marshmallows, fishing, golfing, playing games, late nights, Micky Mouse pancakes. We were able to capture a family picture too!!

Bo and Steve fishing. That kids seriously LOVES to fish. He just couldn't get enough of it!

Dane loves his cousins! It was hard to see them leave because he was just warming up to them but we know that we will see them again hopefully sometime soon! Dane loves music and so Vy would go and play the piano and Dane would sit in front of her and bounce up and down and clap when she was done!

Whats a 4th of July without going to the RUPERT parade? We all had such a fun time. The parade wasn't too long and it wasn't too hot either. Notice how Dane has his binki in his mouth in every picture...reason being, whenever we would put him on the ground to crawl around...a rock would go in his mouth!! We then came home and had a bbq and just laughed and talked more!! Thanks for the fun time family and can't wait to do it again!!!

Lil' Fish

It seems as though we have a fish on our hands! Dane LOVES the water. We went over to a friends house the other day and played in the water and he just loved it! Lima Bean Wreath

I was a little picky with my color to paint it so I ended up using a paint brush instead of spray paint. It actually turned out very cute and I'm proud of it... considering I'm not much of the crafty person!

Fathers Day Weekend

We had such a great Fathers Day weekend! I tried to make is extra special for Brent since this was his first Fathers Day! It started with presents on Friday night...since we can't keep gifts from each other! Dane got him the game Zelda for the Wii and I got him Season 9 of Scrubs! Then on Saturday we went out for lunch at Goodwood!! Then we came home for naps and then we decided to take Dane out golfing to see how he would like it. Boy was it a hit, he LOVED every minute of it. He was so good. Then we headed to The Santaqueen for a treat! We ended the weekend with having to speak in church. Brent did such a great job. I'm so thankful for him and for such a great father that he is to our little boy! Thanks Brent for all you do for us!

We've had quite the week trying to fight off the flu! Dane had it on Monday then Brent got it on Wednesday and I got it on Thursday. Luckily when I got it, it wasn't as bad as Brent & Dane. Dane was feeling better on Tuesday and then on Wednesday night he started to feel yucky again! So to say the least I have cleaned the house inside and out today to get rid of this bug!

We have done lots of cuddling and rocking along with drinking lots of pedialyte like its going out of style and watching lots of cartoons!

And today we are finally starting to feel normal again...just really tired! Here is Dane showing off his "brushing his teeth" skills!

This little boy has discovered watermelon and LOVES it! I put it in his teething ring and he just goes to town on it! I can't wait to buy more fruit to put in it. We went to the doc. today because he hasn't been acting himself. Waking up more at night and more whiny during the day. He has a cold. So to say the least we have been lounging in our jammies and watching some cartoons! Hopefully the weather gets nice so we can go outside and bake the cold out of him!

Spring happenings...

We are so lucky to have a park so close to our house! We have finally been meeting some friends so we meet up with them at the park! We had such a great time watching the kids play. Dane's new favorite thing is to swing! He just giggles while we push him. As we were leaving my friend Lindsey was saying good bye to him and he waved back at her! Gotta love the firsts!

We are finally getting our yard put together! We went and got some flowers to plan the other day. Dane even helped while he dug in the dirt and sucked on rocks! Haha

...and yes that is our grass coming up! We hydro seeded it 2 weeks ago and we can't believe how fast it is coming!! We have just a few things to do in our yard like plant a few bushes and hook up our drip system around the house.

HURRAY for summer....can't wait for the warm weather!!

Tooth Fairy

Thank you so much for FINALLY coming to visit Dane so that his teeth will come in! We officially have at least 1 tooth on its way. Boy are mom and dad happy! This has been a game that we have been playing for 4 months now. We will be excited for your return back to pick up that same tooth in 5 or so years!

Dane turned 8 months last week! Wowzers, where does time go? I had to take his picture in these awesome boots. This was the first thing we got for him a year ago when we found out we were having a BOY!! The monkey is measuring 30 1/2 inches long and weighing at 23.6 lbs!

Here are a few things he is doing:

Happy Easter!

We had such a great Easter! First of all, Dane got his first package in the mail from his Gram (a.k.a my mom) & Steve! As you can tell, he LOVED the peeps!

Later that day, my mom and Steve ended up showing up to spend the Easter weekend with us! Man did we have such a great time. We colored eggs which was a blast! My mom and I had a hard time trying to figure out what color the tablet was so she would stick them on her tongue and turned it colors! Dane liked the stickers that came with the egg coloring set. Plus my mom got him this little caterpillar and it moves and he was trying to figure out how it was moving! Ha total classic Brent! I swear the kid is starting to remind me of Brent more and more every day!!

To say the least we had so much fun. We went out to dinner at a restaurant in Santaquin and it was soooo good. The menu said that everything was served with a scone...okay well when they brought them out, they were GINORMOUS! As you can tell Brent was holding one...it looked like Idaho, upside down! Dane didn't sleep much due to he didn't want to miss out on anything! He finally fell asleep in his car seat holding his shark!! Cute boy!!

My mom and Steve had to head back on Saturday and then 20 mins. later my cousin and his wife showed up!! We had a blast with them too! They had to go to a reception in Lehi so we went with them and then we went to Cabela's after that. We fed the fish, (good thing we had Ry to shake the food machine so we could get some) looked at the aquarium, took pictures (sorry Barb and Ry, somehow that picture I took of you guys didn't save...booo). Ha, then Easter morning came around and I was getting ready to hide eggs for everyone but they all woke up!!

Ohh well, we still had a great time! Thanks everyone for coming to visit us...PLEASE come back again!!!

Easter Craft

So my mom e-mailed me this awesome/fun Easter craft! Dipping peeps in chocolate! I wanted to do something fun for our neighbors and I thought this was perfect. I was really easy too. I just melted some chocolate chips and dipped the peep in chocolate. Then I just placed a stick through them and sprinkled some Easter sprinkles on them. Love how they turned out!!

Then I wanted to make some Oreo cookies with yellow frosting! They all turned out great and had a blast making them!

We love this time of the year and so grateful for Jesus Christ and his resurrection! Happy Easter to all!

Wow, this cute little boy just melts our hearts! We thought we would get him a new car seat considering he is getting so big. He is weighing at 23 lbs and is almost 30 inches long! We thought we would go for a ride and try it out and he loved it. Every time we looked back at him he would just smile at us!

Also, his new thing is he LOVES to ride in shopping carts. He can explore so much more. He is starting to love more and more food. New favorite is vanilla yogurt and cottage cheese. He thinks he has to try everything that we are eating too!

Happenings...

This last weekend was General Conference. We really enjoyed our weekend getting to listen to the speakers! While Brent was at the Priesthood Session I thought that it would be fun to start a tradition with Dane and do something fun/creative while he is gone. So I found this cinnamon popcorn recipe that I have been dying to try. Plus we thought we would fix Brent a treat for when he comes home. So we had a blast making treats together and watching the basketball games so that I could inform Brent on who was winning when he got home! Also, last Thursday and Friday it was just beautiful here. So we thought we would take advantage of the nice weather and headed out to the golf course! We thought we would just start out hitting balls a couple of times to see how he likes it. Well, Dane loved it and people watching and the warm weather!Poor little guy is teething (we think). He has been a bear cat the last few days and has all of a sudden started waking up in the night just crying. He is constantly chewing on his fingers and there seems to be more drool than usual along with a runny nose, some ear pulling and rosy cheeks. Luckily no fever! So I've been trying everything to keep him comfortable without over dosing with the meds. He usually gets worse in the evenings so I let him have some of my creamie the other night and it was a hit! He loved it and after he had some he calmed down and was happy as can be! Is that bad that I'm feeding my 7 1/2 month old creamies? Haha there could be worse things I figure! Even through it all, there still seems to be smiles that I can get out of him!!

St. George

This last week we had a chance to get away so we took full advantage of it and packed our bags and headed off to St. George. We had such a great time. We golfed, shopped, laughed, played at Fiesta Fun(we even got my mom to go and drive a go cart), ate out, went to the temple, shopped more and stayed up late! Dane was so good the whole time. My cousin Jana and her kids came too so it was fun to spend time with them and my mom and Steve. Let alone we got to see Sam and Wes and their new house! We are super excited for them! Here are a few pictures that captured the events. Dane can sit up really well now so he got to sit in a high chair at Olive Garden for the first time and he didn't know what to think!

Yes, we are alive and doing well! We are finally getting situated into our house and boy do we just LOVE it! I'm making head way and getting things put into place and finding a home for everything and decluttering things too! (So far DI, I'm bring 3 bags of stuff to you) Dane is adjusting very well...I think he knows this is home. He has been eating more solid foods and is LOVING it. So far his favorites are sweet potatoes, squash, carrots and pears. Gags on peaches, will do okay with applesauce and apple, strawberry mix. Such a fun boy and so glad we have him to keep me company during the day! Our ward seems very nice, we have great neighbors and boy are we ready for the weather to get nice!!

6 Months

Our little (BIG) monkey turned 6 months last week! We had a chance to take him to the doc and he said that Dane is off the charts! He also said that his stats are reading at a 10 month stage and his skills are measuring at a 7 month old!
Weight - 22 lbs
Height - 28 3/4 inches long

I claim that he is going to be like his Uncle Clint! Dane brings so much happiness to our family. He is always happy, sleeps through the night, loves his mom & dad, loves to read books, is excellent on road trips, loves to talk, loves getting kisses from his mom, has a favorite blanket, starting to enjoy solid food, starting to make lots of different faces, hates getting dressed, loves bath time, enjoys stroller rides, wants to be included with everyone, loves his green lizard and sock monkey, loves to eat every 2-3 hours, enjoys watching football and cartoons, loves his johnny jump up!

Thanks Dane for being such a good boy! We love ya!!

Island Park

This last weekend we had a chance to go up with Brent's family to Island Park. We had a great time, we had to stop in Ashton on the way up for Brent to drop off some stuff to his boss and it really is a pretty area up there! They are working by the dam and there were otters and swans swimming around. Me and Dane hung out in the car while Brent went out and explored the project but we still managed to take pictures!!
There is a bunch of snow in Island Park. Within the last week they got 8 to 10 new inches of snow and I'm sure more on the way. When you would look out the windows, the snow would be piled up so you really couldn't see much. We took our wii so our weekend consisted of playing the wii, snowmobiling, swimming, playing games, eating lots of good food and just hanging out as a family! Dane loved his first time swimming. I think we are going to have a fish on our hands, which is good! I should of gotten a season pass to Seven Peaks huh? We will be moving to Utah next weekend...kinda a bitter sweet deal. Very excited to get in our house and get situated and start a new chapter in our lives! Its been great being close to family since we have had Dane! At least we will only be 3 1/2 hours away!

First Time in Sun Valley

Last weekend we decided last minute to go up to Sun Valley with my dad and Lupe! We had such a great time and Dane was such a good boy. He was so cute as we were out and about shopping around. We went to the awesome thrift store there and scored a few new books and a puzzle. We also made sure to hit up the Chocolate Factory. Dane enjoyed every second with his Papa and Nannie! Thanks guys for such a great time! (This little boy LOVES his stroller!)

1st Play Date

This last weekend we had the opportunity to go to Utah! Brent had training on Friday and so it just so happened to work out to have a play date during the day and then girls night!! (More on that story later!) We had such a fun time playin with Caitlyn and Sam! Sam is such a cute boy and he is always smiling. He is a flirt if you ask me!! Sam is 2 1/2 months older than Dane! I love watching Sam and seeing what he can do. Makes me excited for Dane to get older.

Here we are getting them ready for the night before us girls went out! We had to compare the two of them and Dane isn't far behind Sam. Dane is starting to sit up on his own...I usually have to help him with one hand. I love how Dane is patting Sam's shoulder!

In between Christmas and New Years, Brent's work gave him the whole week off! We wanted to do something fun but we just couldn't decide. Well on Tuesday morning we got up and packed our bags not knowing where we were going for sure...well 5 minutes before we walked out the door I called my Bro in Washington and told him we were on our way and we were going to come and stay with them for the rest of the week! Boy, were we all so excited...I was a little nervous about the roads because there was a nasty storm on its way...but Brent was such a great husband and he knew that I wanted to go so bad. He was a champ and drove us there safely. Dane did FABULOUS...we only had to stop once to get gas and I figured that I had better feed him and then he just slept and hung out the rest of the time.

The week consisted of games, LOTS of laughing, delicious food, shopping, hockey games, date night, watching movies and just hanging out as a family!

Vy and Bo just LOVED Dane! They were so good with him and they helped me so much watching him and changing him etc!

Here we are before we went out and had lunch and did some shopping! Bo and Brent were buddy's the whole time!

We decided to be brave and take Dane to his first hockey game! He did great. The cheering and loud horns didn't bother him at all...in fact he fell asleep! Such a good and cute little boy!

Bo and Dane had the same shammies with frogs on them so they had to wear them on the same night!!

Clint and Heather talked us into leaving Dane and going out on a date one night! So we took advantage of it and we had stuch a great time! Thanks for watchin Dane for us and thanks so much for letting us come and crash at your house! Dane loves you guys so much and he is already counting down the days until he gets to see you again!!

Christmas

Yeah I know...I'm totally behind about posting about Christmas! We had such a great time with our family's. Dane wasn't quite sure about the whole Christmas thing...in fact he thought he always needed to eat when it came to opening presents time. I felt like a little kid. I couldn't go to sleep and then I was up at 5 a.m. I was just so excited for Dane even though he isn't old enough to know yet. I'm sure next year will be a blast!!

Me and Brent celebrated our 4 year wedding anniversary yesterday! It was a good one. We were in Pasco, WA last weekend so my sis in law watched Dane for us while we went out to dinner. Its weird leaving for the first time...its like something is missing! But it was fun to just be with Brent! I still wanted to make yesterday special even though we weren't going out, so I ordered Shon Hings (Chinese food), made a cheese cake and bought Despicable Me for Brent! He just so happened to surprise me with some yellow roses!!! We splurged on each other this year and bought some new sunglasses!

4 Months

Dane is now 4 months old. People always say, "Time goes by so fast!" I couldn't agree anymore! We took him to the doc. last week for his check up and he is such a healthy boy!

Weight: 17.3 lbs

Length: 26 1/2 inches

He is in the 90th percentile for his weight and length and 35th percentile for his head! Haha made me laugh...he doesn't really have that big of a head!

He is such a good boy...sleeps in his crib, sleeps through the night (most of the time), loves his bumbo chair, is always serious and trying to figure how things work, loves to tell stories, enjoys bath time (starting to figure out he likes to splash), survived his first road trip to Pasco, WA (more to post later on that trip), doesn't want to miss out on anything, is always making us laugh!

Thanks Dane for being such a good boy! You definitely bring smiles to your family!!

So my mom was looking through some pictures the other day and she claimed that Dane looks like his cousin Brogan. So I checked it out and I couldn't agree with her more!! Like what Brent said..."I'm okay with that I like Bo and he is a good boy too!" Bo had more hair but when I get Danes hair wet it gets curly too! Too cute, love them both!!!

3 Months

Dane is a 3 months now (well a few weeks over 3 months) and where does time go? He makes us smile so much every day. He is such a happy and good baby. We have moved him from the bassinet to the crib and he is adjusting well. Sometimes he wakes up but for the most part he has continued to sleep through the night! He is just full of smiles especially in the morning...when I get the camera out to capture his smiles...he stops! Ha ha of course. I'm still trying to figure out who he looks like, from the cheeks down he looks like my baby pictures...but there is something in his eyes that looks like Brent. He has Brent's hair line too! I'm just so thankful that my Heavenly Father loves me so much to sent this sweet spirit to us. I learn so much from Dane everyday. A month ago I put some new shammies (jammies) on him before I had washed them and we woke up the next morning with hives on his arms and legs. I felt like a bad mom. But still no matter what, Dane still loved me and gave me smiles. I learned from this that we need not to judge others of their mistakes and still love them unconditionally.

He loves to sit in his chair and watch mom fix dinner!

Snowed IN!

Over the past few days we got this awesome snow storm that just snowed and the wind blowed...A LOT! Brent went to work on Tuesday for half day and then hurried and made it home in time before the freeways were closed and what not. Since the weather was so bad...they decided to take a snow day today at work! How cool is that? I'm so excited that Brent is home with us for the rest of the week and to have some family time!

Yep that right...I had a birthday on November 10th and turned 25. Wow, its still hard to believe that I'm 25 and have a kid. Some days I think that I'm not old enough to have a kid...maybe its because I'm the baby in my family. I did have a fabulous birthday though. My wonderful husband spoiled the poo out of me...along with my family. I know, leave it to me, I totally didn't take pictures. (Heather I need you here to help get everyone in line for pictures...and to play with my baby!!) If anyone knows me and Brent...we just can't keep secrets from each other. So that is why we always have to do our shopping for each other last minute. Well, he waited as long as possible and ended up giving me my gift on the Sunday before. (I joke around that its my birthday WEEK.) So he started the week off with one of these...

Yes, a Nano Ipod. Whoa huh...I'm in the process of getting my CD's in order and put them on the ipod. He always is giving me a hard time with all of my CD cases in my car...so we will put a stop to that!

Then on my birthday, Steve and my mom made their famous shrimp dinner! Boy was it to die for...my brother and his family (Joni's birthday is the day after mine) came and my step sis and her family! It was just great getting to spend so much time and getting phone calls from my family!

Then they surprised me with this awesome Dairy Queen ice cream cake!!!

Then the weekend came and we were able to spend time as a new family. Brent has been working 14+ hour days for the last 6 weeks so that they could get done paving before the bad weather sets in. Luckily they finished on my birthday and his boss gave him Friday off!

We decided to take a quick trip to Utah so that we can turn our A/C off and turn our heat on. Funny story, we turned our heat on and I guess with new construction, it hasn't been turned on before so we ended up setting off our fire alarm. It scared the snot out of me...I grabbed Dane and put my shoes on and RAN out the door. To say the least, we won't be sleeping through any alarms. There is a high pitch sound going off and a lady yelling FIRE FIRE FIRE...I look back now and laugh. But at the time I was freaking out. Brent shut off the heat and we opened the doors to let the gas smell air out and then we turned it back on and we were good to go!

Man I just love our cute house. Dane slept in his crib for the first time and he loved it. I would go and lay him down and he would just go right to sleep!

We had such a great time at our house...its the first time we've been there since we've had Dane. Brent was nice and took me shopping and Christmas shopping. We forgot how much fun it is to people watch at the mall too! We had quite a blast!

In Santaquin we live by the Rowley's Red Barn. It seriously my favorite. They have fresh fruit, ice cream and carmel apples and lots of other goodies. I had to take Brent and they have Christmas lights on their barn. I just love the little town feel. Feels like home!

In Brent's work truck the back seat isn't big enough to stick a car seat back there so Dane gets to ride in the front with us. Man this kid LOVES to smile. He never cries except for if he is hungry or stinky! Here is a cute smile that I captured.

So the river behind my mom's house is really low right now. Its lower than usual due to letting people repair their river banks and so forth. Its crazy to see where all the sand bars are and wonder how people miss them!!

Well I decided to do my craft for the year and I made this car seat cover for Dane. Thanks to my mother in law that cut it out for me and then I sewed it all together! I'm really happy with how it turned out!!

On 10.10.10 we blessed Dane! He was such a good boy. I used Brent's blessing outfit that he wore. He was just so handsome! It was fun to have so much family around! Thanks to Brent that gave him such a wonderful blessing and here are a few pictures that we captured during the day!

Brent has been pulling some pretty crazy hours at work due to trying to get paving done before the cold weather sets in. So in his words this is his "harvest" time. Thank goodness I grew up with a family that farms and so I understand the importance of this! This last Saturday he only had to work half a day so me and Dane thought we would tag along...Here we are hanging out in Brent's office! Dane is such a good little boy. He loves to ride in his car seat...pretty much makes him fall to sleep the second we put him in it. Good thing since we will be traveling the next while!

Dane is funny, when he is sleeping he will wake up every now and then a take a peek around and make sure we are still there!

Well as everyone has requested, here are some more pictures. We have been adjusting well. He seems to be sleeping and eating well. Here are a few pictures that I have taken right when I get up out of bed to check on him! I consider myself pretty lucky to have such a handsome son to look at!

He likes to fall to sleep with his Binky in his mouth but doesn't last long in his mouth and ends up being squished up against his face!

Last week he got jaundice. Not bad, but we had to go to Norco and get a bililight and he slept with that for a few days. He slept so good and he was just so dang cute!! His jaundice has cleared up and seems to be gaining weight. He weights 6 lbs 14 oz. So that's good that he is already above his birth weight!!

Dane Michael Turpin

Dane Michael Turpin has arrived! He is so cute and perfect in every way. We are so excited to be a family of 3 now! They decided to induce me on Thursday due to my high blood pressure and to say the least, I had a wonderful fast deliver. Start to finish 6 hours! Here is a cute picture of our bundle of joy!

Brent has been workin some crazy hours. I'm so thankful for him and all of hard work that he does so I decided that I would have a "Go To Work With Your Hubby" day! He suggested that I go on a Friday since they only work tell noon. So this last Friday, I got up at 4:30 in the morning and we were out the door by 5:20. I really had a great time, it was just nice being able to spend a lot of time with him! He took me around the job site in April and man have things changed since then! Here are a few pictures that highlighted the day!

Here is our cool ride! Here we are looking out over the bridge.
Aww...hes so handsome!! I couldn't get out of the pickup except for here because I needed to wear a hard hat and have steel toed shoes...I wore flip flops!!
Here is the Bridge. You don't realize how big and amazing it is until you are there on site. At the very bottom of the bridge you can see little orange specs, that's the workers that are working down there. (If that gives you a comparison to how big the bridge is.) Oh and we went over on the other side too, we went down that rode and from the picture it doesn't look very steep...boy I tell you what, I had to close my eyes I was so scared. You have to have 4 wheel drive to go down and get back out. Here is what it looks like when your down in the bottom of the bridge! Crazy how tall it is!

**As for a baby update, I went to the doc on Monday and was dilated to a 2. My blood pressure has been a bit high so my doc is keepin close tabs on me. We gotta keep him cookin for a few more weeks. But other than that, baby is kickin like crazy and I've discovered that he gets the hiccups a lot! I washed all of his clothes and blankets yesterday and his bag is packed for when he is ready to come!!

I always have people ask me what I do to stay busy. Well with moving, unpacking, family, etc I've taken on an extra project that I thought would be a fun adventure. My mom had this old rocking chair down stairs in one of the spare bedrooms. She told me I could have it if I want. The only thing is that my brother took a screw driver to the seat when he was 3 years old so it was a bit distressed! I thought this would be perfect if I sanded it down and painted it white to go in the baby's room! I've never done something like this so I was up for adventure. Sanding took a few days...I've painted it white and I just love how its turned out! I wouldn't say that this is my new hobby but I did enjoy doing it and it has more meaning to me too. I tried not to sand out the marks my brother made so that I can show the baby and tell him about his Uncle Clinto and how silly he was!!

I'm waiting to show you what the chair will look like in the baby's bedroom so that you can get the full affect! I still have a few touch ups that I need to do too!

32 Weeks

Well, I finally captured a picture of my belly. Its not very good one but I'm 32 weeks pregnant here. Every time I think about getting a picture I'm by myself. Here within the next few weeks I'll try to get more. I'm still feeling good...just get a little uncomfortable when we travel to Utah. But I can't complain. I've loved pregnancy. Just as long as I stay in doors and don't get hot! The lill' monkey is wild too!

The last few weeks we have been traveling down to Utah to get our house situated! I just love our cute house and how things are turning out! We got everything unpacked and sorted and now its just needs some decorating. I'm kinda chicken to hang anything until I know for sure I want to because I hate putting holes in the walls! I just can't wait to make some good pies in the kitchen! We haven't had a fridge until last Saturday so now I can stock up on things!!

So the company that Brent is working with gave him a pickup! When he first got it, it smelt bad. (Hint his nick name...Stinky.) Thank goodness we took some pine sol to his floors and gave him a air freshener and he was as good as new! (In my eyes at lest.) Well when Brent first got the pickup it had about 192,000 miles on it. So to say the least, we have made a mile stone in Stinky's life and had to document this moment! We rolled him over to 200,000 miles on Sunday on our way back from Utah. Of all the places we rolled it over, it was on the boarder of Idaho and Utah! We had to take him down to Utah to get fixed and it was like we were giving our kid away for a week...I was kinda sad. But they got him fixed and he runs like a champ now!

Oh wait...this is our new house! Yes its true, back in January we started to look around and we decided that it was cheaper to build than it was to buy something that would need some fixin up! Let alone, we know what we are getting ourselves into! So a few months later they started to build our cute little home. We love it, we got to pick out colors and so forth! To say the least, they finished and we signed the papers on Friday!!! We can't wait to get out stuff out of storage and open wedding gifts that I haven't been able to use yet! Since Brent is going to be working here in Idaho until November or December it will be nice to go down on the weekends and gradually get things put away...hopefully before baby cakes comes along!!!

I only got a few good pictures...here is our kitchen! Can't wait to make lots of yummy food in it!!I will post more as we start to get settled in!!

Golf 101

This last weekend, we thought we would play a little family golf! I haven't played much since I've been pregnant and my golf clubs are somewhere in the back of our storage unit! So I figure I can use a combination of Brent's and my moms clubs! To say the least, I have NEVER played so good in my life. I almost got my first hole in one, the ball rolled up onto the green and then bounced off the pin and rolled a few feet away! Holy moly, maybe this baby is going to be a pro golfer!! He was for sure my good luck charm. We played best ball, so we were always playing my ball or Steve's.

Wedding - Take 2

A few weeks ago we had an open house for Sammy and Wes! It was whole bunches of fun. Flower went a lot better this time than in St. George. I think they turned out beautiful! My momma, cousin, and sis in law has some good talent!

We had some good serious grub. Chips, salsa, dips, tacos, quesadillas, taquitos, cupcakes, chocolates, chocolate cover raisins. You get the idea! Here is my wonderful sis in law. I took this picture of us! Turned out cute. She forgot her hair/makeup bag when they got here from Washington. So we ventured over to Wal-Mart at 11 at night to stock her back up! To top it off, she forgot her purse, good think I grabbed mine. Who knew that getting a blow dryer, curling iron, make-up, tooth brush etc. could add up so fast! Lets just say $200 later! We sure did make a good memory!

To top off the wedding weekend, my other fabulous sis in law thew me a baby shower! It was super fun. I failed to get pictures and the pictures that were taken...lets just say I didn't look too hot! So next time I'm feeling beautiful, I'll make sure to capture one for the belly shot!

Wedding - Take 1

This last weekend we had a chance to go to St. George Utah for my step sis's wedding! We had such a great time. We left on Wednesday night and came back on Sunday. Since we were driving so far, we figured that we might as well make a vacation out of the deal too! We did lots of golfing, Sonic runs, shopping, sleeping, laying out and swimming! Sammy took her endowments out on Thursday and then the wedding took place on Friday at the St. George temple.

Here is me and Brent. It was really hott outside, we aren't used to the triple digit heat. Let alone I'm creating enough of my own heat. It was a shocker going from 65 degree weather to 106 degree weather!

Here are a few pictures from the reception that was later on Friday night. My mom and cousin Jana did all the flowers. They are the new and improved Martha Stewart if you ask me!!

Haha I would have to say that this picture explains EVERYTHING!!!! Apparently we made too many Sonic runs. The cable broke that holds the window in place and helps it go up and down. It broke after a run to Sonic. So, thank goodness to great family, they walked us through what to do and how to take the door apart and to get a hold of the window to roll it back up until we got back home to Idaho! We were one of those red neck people driving on the free way that had duct tape on their window! PRICELESS!!!! (To say the least, Burt is in the shop getting fixed as we speak!)

We are having another party again this weekend! I can't wait to see the rest of my family!!

Yesterday, I decided to talk my mom into going grocery shopping at Wal-Mart. Neither one of us really enjoy Wal-Mart but my sister in law and brother introduced Brent to some salsa that is Wal-Mart brand and he just LOVES it! (Thanks Buff & Clint!!!) As I was strolling down and looking at all the different kind of cereals, this one just poped out at me! Oh man, all of my childhood memories came back! Boy, I started to jump up and down because every time I ate Captain Crunch, I would always bring up stories how they used to make Opps All Berries and how it was the BEST because you didn't have to pick through anything!!!! (Let alone I'm such a cereal junkie and could eat it for every meal. I goggled it a year ago to see what ever happened to it and they had discontinued it.) Well yesterday all my dreams came true!!! If you haven't tried it yet, I highly suggest going out and buying a box or two!

So the house that we are house sitting for has this nest right out side the laundry room window. I've been drawn to this little momma Robin and have been watching her and checking on her 4 little blue eggs. At first, she used to fly away from me when I would look at her. But she has become used to me checking on her. Well sometime from Thursday morning to Friday morning the babies hatched! They are such scary little critters with no hair. But I couldn't help but be excited for this new momma Robin!

We have had a few exciting moments the last few weeks! It all started out on a Thursday night when Brent complained that he had a pain in his right side. Well, as the night grew on, he was in more pain. So we decided to head to the ER and get things checked out. Usually I know when Brent is in pain because he usually never says anything unless it HURTS! So after hangin out at the ER for a while, they decided that he needed to have his appendix taken out! Wonderful, huh? They were going to do the surgery that night but they had one going on that was going to take 5 hours and they were only 2 hours into it. So lucky Brent had to wait until 10 the next morning.

Meanwhile, we have some close family friend that have asked us to stay in their house in Rupert while they are gone on their mission! We figured why not, Brent will dive to Twin every day but he has a company truck so we thought it would be fun. Plus we would be really close to family before we head off to Utah in November. Well, it just so happens that we HAVE to be out of our apt. the same day that Brent has his appendix out. So once they got Brent admitted into the hospital on Thursday night at 2 in the morning, I left him and got the rest of the house packed so that when our family came to help us, we could just load the trailer and be on our way. To say the least, I only got an hour and a half of sleep that night. I hated being away from Brent so I showed back up at the hospital at 6 a.m. on Friday! To say the least, he is healing good, got sick last week but he returned to work yesterday and is doing good. He is such a good sport. Thanks to the best family's in the whole wide world to come and sit with me in the hospital and to help us move!

We are all situated in the house and we are enjoying every minutes of it. It feels like we are living in a luxery hotel!!!

It seems as though our new little pet has out grown his home. Sad thing is, I have all of my big bowls packed away so his legs will just have to be smaller than the rest of his body for a while until I get him a new home next week! We left for the weekend and we came back to this...

Here is our new pet...well until he stops growing. We decided to wait a while longer until we are done moving to get a dog! So mean while I have to get my animal fix so we were at the store the other day and I saw this "Grow your own Turtle". I thought hey this will be perfect for the time being! Its probably a good thing because all I have to do is make sure he has enough space to grow, no changing water, no feeding or cleaning up after! I kinda like the lill DUDE...he reminds me of the turtle on Finding Nemo!

The Easter Bunny surprised Brent and gathered together a basket for us! Obviously, the Easter Bunny didn't realize how much he bought...he bought the basket first then everything else, it didn't all fit! But we sure had a great and fun Easter!!

As far as a baby update: everything is still going great. I went to the doc today and he said that I was a very healthy 24 year old. We got to listen to the heart beat and it was still very strong! I'm still feeling great and trying not to eat EVERYTHING that I want!! We will find out next month what we are having!!
